Site Selection

Our building requirements ensure that every location is suitable for our high standard of early child development. Our real estate team is dedicated to helping you select a building site, using data and analytics to find locations that have the characteristics required for a successful Goddard School.

Prospective suburban building sites should ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Prototype building size of about 10,000 square feet
  • Includes a playground area
  • Includes a minimum lot size of one acre

Prospective metropolitan building sites should ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Building size of 10,000 square feet or larger on the first floor of an existing metropolitan building that we can retrofit
  • Some locations with space on both the first and second floors are acceptable, provided the first floor is large enough for an office and a space for infants and non-ambulatory children
  • Access to a playground area

It is also beneficial if your prospective location is near:

  • Single-family home construction and existing homes with high resale values
  • An open, planned or under-construction elementary school
  • Neighborhood business areas
  • Retail pad sites
